Summary of the project
The project designed by the Flor de Murta Association, FAAZ – Environmental Tools from A to Z, is part of the ICE Action Program for 2019, which aims to promote the adoption of more ecological and sustainable practices in each community. It is aimed at 26 pre-school students and 40 students from the Primary School of Olhos de Água, a rural village in the outskirts of Palmela, an area of low population density with some environmental problems, such as waste management and land use, due to non-ecological agricultural exploitation and uncontrolled urbanization processes, leading to abandon or neglect plots of public space. The project aims to create a structure of dialogue and action, from inside out the school, as the basis for local transformation towards the adoption of greener practices. It will last 10 months on a weekly basis and has several multiplier agents, establishing partnerships with local NGOs, in the field of Education for Sustainable Development, K-Evolution, Flor de Murta Association, environmental protection promoter of sustainable intervention in the landscape, which will stimulate activities aimed at the co-construction of a Living Laboratory and an atelier/workshop, where creative activities related to outdoor learning will take place.
