Summary of the project
SUSTAINABILITY SCHOOL: a travelling school that offers courses, laboratories, audio-visual literacy, creation and screening of documentaries, informational banquets and meetings-debates aimed at promoting sustainable lifestyles, raising awareness of global interdependence and the fundamental role of everyone in mitigating the effects of climate change. To restore balance we need to focus on systemic solutions, which allow us to reconnect and simultaneously satisfy the three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, economic and social. The topics to which it will be given priority are: responsible production and consumption of food, fair use of materials and objects, awareness on energy consumption.
The activities of the school will take place in 7 municipalities of Sardinia, where students from the secondary schools will be involved, as well as university students, young people and adults. The 7 municipalities are: Selegas (CA), Serramanna (CA), Busachi (OR), Oristano (OR), Sennori (SS), Santulussurgiu (OR), Uta (CA), WWF natural reserve.

Overall achievements
The Sandalia Sustainability School had as main objective raising awareness of the urgency of changing lifestyles in a more sustainable direction, informing and training people on what everyone can against climate change. To achieve this goal, 61 children, 123 girls and boys and 285 adults from Cagliari, Sassari, Alghero, San Gavino Monreale, Santu Lussurgiu, Senorbì and Selegas were involved, exceeding expectations in terms of participation. They attended theoretical courses, experiential workshops, audiovisual literacy courses, film screenings and Open Days in three sectors: conscious food production and consumption, conscious use of materials and objects, awareness of energy consumption. The goal of involving the participants in video-documentations on sustainable realities was also satisfied, with the result of four documentaries produced.
